Call for Manuscripts: Our Founding Editor-in-Chief, Debra Leigh Scott, is editing a collection of essays which will explore the ways in which students and faculty are finding their voice and discovering their power through the act of refusal. Creating a mass exodus from the corporatized university which has destroyed the quality of higher education in the United States is becoming requires that we find alternatives. How do we protect ourselves from exploitation while continuing to practice and function as scholars, public intellectuals, educators? What alternatives exist, which new forms might be created, where scholars can function fully, where students can receive a high-quality more highly individualized education? How might this exodus help us to restore real academia, and protect the Liberal Arts and Humanities? These are the discussion areas we'd like to see explored.
